I've been thinking it would be cool to showcase all the "OLF Plan" guitars and the different variations of them that have made using ONLY the OLF Plans.

I have to think about this but I would be open to suggestions as to an easy to use, user friendly gallery style software.

Id love to be able to see a slide show of guitars, one that I could click through.
On each slide could be the makers name, website, a little bit about the guitar, and what OLF plan he or she used.

What are you thoughts on this?
Anybody game?

What would be real cool is to have a main link on the main forum page and also a link in the library of plans that would send the viewer to a gallery of a specific plan set.

Might end up being a great sales tool.

I agree Michael. It would be a great marketing tool. If the instruments were made with parts and/or tonewoods from our sponsors, there could be links to their websites as well. I think it would be good to list the specs and statesomething like. Back and Sides: XYZ tonewood from XYZ Sponsor.

Do you thin that sounds reasonable/doable?

That too but i meant as a sales tool for the plans to benefit the forum.

I'm all for it. I have a SJ that is ready for the gallery.  Sounds like a great  idea!

Yep, that's what I was agreeing to. I think it would allow people to visualize the end product before purchasing the plans. The other was just another avenue consider.

Lance - This is a great idea!  Far a newbie who is planning to build and aquiring zoot and tools but who has a hard time putting the artistic ends together this would really help.

Also, what about soundclips for each of the guitars?  I realize that there would be no a:b comparisons since the recording methods and environments are different but it would give a little idea of what the differences in tone can be.

Thanks,

All great ideas! Sound clips would be awesome!

Would it be possible to record them at one place under the same conditions? I realize that's a lot of shipping, headaches, etc. but at least it would make for a good comparison.

That would be pretty much impractical for some of us as for all examples of mine are in the hands of clients spread out all over Texas to Hawaii and I am sure that will be true of several of us. I do have a couple sound clips of 2 of my SJ available.

Mine too. Just a thought.

Lance, that sounds pretty cool. I can develop some gallery software
specifically for it if you're interested in something more tailored.
